Belgium-based EcoPhos has teamed up with Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers & Chemicals Limited (GNFC) for manufacturing di-calcium phosphate (DCP) in the State of Gujarat of India.
Two companies have agreed to set up a 1,50,000 MT per annum animal feed grade di-calcium phosphate plant at GNFC TDI Dahej site, Gujarat.
They have also agreed to set up a joint venture in which EcoPhos will have majority stake. The DCP JV plant will be set up based on eco friendly, energy efficient and renowned world class technology provided by EcoPhos, utilising hydrochloric acid (HCl) and low grade rock phosphate as feedstock.
GNFC will provide HCl, utilities and other required services while EcoPhos pledge to provide license, engineering services and proprietary equipments to the proposed JV Company.
EcoPhos management says this project will help the company to become a global leader in animal feed phosphates. EcoPhos develops and commercializes phosphate technology and processes applying to various market segments in the phosphates industry. Its technology enables to produce and purify phosphoric acid and phosphate salts.
The company develops processes covering various market segments of the phosphate industry, including chemical beneficiation of low grade phosphate rock, phosphoric acid and fertilizer products, animal feed phosphates applications, and high purity phosphoric acid and phosphate salt.
It also produces animal feed quality di-calcium phosphate and mono-calcium phosphate. The company was founded in 1996 and is based in Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium.
